Nils Brown- Tenor
Canadian Tenor, Nils Brown, is a distinguished solo performer in oratorio, opera, ensemble, and with symphony orchestras. Most recently, Nils worked as a singer-actor under director Dr. Jonathan Miller, in a dramatic treatment of Bach's St. Matthew Passion (arias) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music - the third reprise of this famous production that he has taken part in. Other opera credits include Don Ottavio in Mozarts' Don Giovanni with Cork Opera (Ireland) and the Jacksonville Symphony (Florida), Opéra de Montreal (Scaramuccio in Ariadne auf Naxos of Strauss), and Opéra de Quebec (Die Zauberflote). He has also sung the role Arcetro in Peri's Euridice for Long Beach Opera, and Almaviva (Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia), for Opera York. A repeat performer in major roles with Toronto's Opera in Concert, he has specialized particularly in the 'bel canto" repertory and in Mozartean singspiel. Nils can be heard featured on recordings with the American Bach Soloists, the Washington Bach Consort, Aradia Ensemble, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, The Four Nations Ensemble and Les Idées Heureuses. Nils currently makes his home in Montreal, Canada.
